‘Contes d’Après… Les portes du temps’ is a book of reimagined fairy tales.

Perhaps you’ve wondered what became of the characters from the fairy tales and legends of our childhood after the customary ‘and they lived happily ever after’?

Tristan, a comic book author, has written a sequel to each tale in this book.

The book as a whole forms one long story, with the Easter Bunny serving as the central theme. However, each short story can be read separately.

Each text (or short story) takes the form of a ‘back cover blurb’ that summarises a fairy tale or legend, and then goes on to describe what became of the characters after the traditional ending.

The layout of this book is reversed. In fact, the text on the front of the page corresponds to the illustration on the back. This reversed layout leaves room for the reader’s imagination: they only discover the end of the short story – that is, the illustration – when they turn the page,

All the illustrations were created in oil paint by Tristan, who also wrote all the texts.
